Admiral Nakhimov was an avowed authority in various fields of naval affairs and talented sailors teacher. «There are three ways, - he said, - to act on your subordinates: awards, fear and personal example — the latter is the surest». In the Naval cadet corps Pavel Nakhimov enjoyed a special request and was one of the best students of admiral Lazarev, who later took the future naval commander to round-the-world voyage on the «Cruiser» frigate. In 1852, Pavel Nakhimov became Vice Admiral and commander of naval division. In the beginning of Crimean war he blocked the main forces of the Turkish fleet in Sinop Bay and defeated them. This battle went down in the history as the last battle of sailing fleets. Nakhimov also led the defence of Sevastopol in 1855. Taking a tough decision to sink the Russian fleet he blocked the way to the bay for enemy ships. Soldiers and sailors, who defended the southern part of Sevastopol under his leadership, called him «a benefactor father». The apartment is decorated in pleasant light colors.
